Sure we're here to work! But what kind of fun would it be reading about how many nails we put in today?

St. Louis URBANA

Well we made it here safely Sunday evening late enough that we missed the opening session but early enough to be exuasted none the less. Getting in around 8:30PM after driving another full day we got in and the guys did a quick trip to a Wal-Mart 10 miles down the road. We quickly re-realized that 10 miles takes much longer than 10 Km but a succesful trip non the less. We made it through the day and it appears that we are all exausted. The day consisted of a morning session some afternoon choice classes and an evening session with anything and everything to fill in the gaps. WMPL(World Mission Prayer League) USA has so graciously decided to help us out and will have lunch provided for us everyday this week in one of their hotel rooms. It has been greatly appreciated today seeing as we would otherwise have to hit the streets fighting the other 17,000 Urbana attendees for a spot in line to eat at downtown resturants. Well time to call it an early night and try to catch up on some sleep. Thank you for all your prayer and I would encourage you to pray for everyone down here to hear what God intends. Trapped in North Dakota

So here we are stuck in North Dakota. This morning we all loaded up in the vans nice and early as we planned to head out and get some good travelling in for the day. We knew the roads were not in great condition but we prayed and off we went hoping we would make it through the storm. Not so much! We got into
Minot and that was as far as we were going to make it The roads are closed and only a few trucks were heading through. We decided to bunker down for a bit the weather is predicted to subside around 6 PM so we are sitting waiting around in the vans trying to keep busy. We went into one corner store and asked the teller man if ice cream was half price here like it is back in Canada on a snow day. He didn't appreciate the humour as much as we did. There was a random crazy carpet in the van so the girls went tabboganing for a bit while Flo, Tim and I went around trying to find people to push out of the snow. There are cars stuck in 3 feet of snow in major intersections all over with pure ice underneath. After sitting in the van from about 11:30 untill 1:30 killing time talking in accents and and watching puppet shows by the girls we got spotted by some locals. They were connected with a Lutheran Brethern School/church and saw the Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute sticker on the side of the van and decided to try to get us into the building to hang out untill we can get going. Talk about a devine appointment. Thanks God! Now were sitting around hanging out and having fun. The girls are playing basketball and volleyball in the gym and we have a TV internet and even a coffee pot. Life is good. Well time to go here's to hoping well make our miles today.

God Bless

Thanks for the Prayers!

Dec 24, 2009

I’m just sitting here at a friend’s place it’s Christmas Eve in Camrose, AB and tomorrow I jump in a 15 passenger van with about a dozen other friends and connections from Bible school and head to St Louis, Missouri. We are heading down there to attend a mission conference called Urbana you can check it out at http://www.urbana09.org/home.main.cfm if you would like. Florian Schwaiger my travel partner for Japan will also attending Urbana alongside me and the others. We are not attending Urbana to do with our Japan ministry but I’m sure it will pertain to our travels seeing as this a mission oriented conference that runs Dec 27-31, 2009. We should return to Camrose on Jan 2, 2010.

I will be in Camrose, Edmonton and all around visiting friends and family before we fly out of Edmonton International Airport on Jan 10, 2010. We will fly to Vancouver where we hope to spend the night at Lauren Renner’s house, she is a good friend of ours from Bible College. After that we will hop back on a plane hopefully finding Sue and Philip in Vancouver Airport (A mother and son coming to work on the same project as us). Sue has mentioned she would like to cook and take care of our meals so Flo and will greatly appreciate this as we will be able to focus on other things. Wow, were spoiled, and I kinda think God knew I could use someone after all I’m sure he knows what my cooking is like!

Financially, Flow and I are both doing well. I believe we have received aprox. $2800 each, and who knows maybe some funds have yet to be received. Thank you for everyone who has been supporting us thus far. Those of you who are praying for us are extremely important and I also want to thank you because I believe your prayer is the backbone of this trip.

Adiosu(goodbye)
